Tea Bar Chokeikyu is a tea room nestled in the basement of Daikanyama Hillside Terrace. Under the theme of “Expressing Asia through the Essence of Japanese Tea,” we explore the teas and spirits from Japan and across Asia—along with the culture and aesthetic sensibilities that breathe life into them—through the flavor of a single cup. By curating a selection of fermented teas produced in Japan, infused with the essence of Asia, we introduce you to the new allure of Japanese tea. Savor tea meticulously prepared in a serene space, and let your thoughts wander to the landscapes and times that shaped it. This is a place where, through tea, you can encounter the unseen vistas of Asia.

A single tea leaf can reveal infinite nuances depending on the manufacturing process and blend.Japanese tea holds a wealth of untapped potential. SOUEN is a space dedicated to exploring new value in Japanese tea, carrying on the wisdom and techniques of “blending” cultivated by the SAKURAI JAPANESE TEA EXPERIENCE. We offer moments of spiritual enrichment through tea—from cups that reflect the changing seasons to sweet treats and stories about our original tea blends.
